Teen Book Club
Wednesdays March 19, April 16, May 21, 7:00 p.m.
This book club is open to eager readers in grades 7-12.  Registration is required and begins one month prior to the date of each discussion; copies of the book will be available at that time.  Register online or call (847) 358-5881, ext. 132.
March 18 - Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life by Wendy Mass

Just before his thirteenth birthday, Jeremy Fink receives a keyless locked box – set aside by his father before his death five years earlier – that purportedly contains the meaning of life.

High school senior Karen uses her psychic powers to help the police locate missing children.

Fourteen-year-old Shawn McDaniel, who is afflicted with a severe form of cerebral palsy, shares his thoughts and feelings about his life, his family, and his condition.

Manga and Cartooning Contest

March 24 – March 30
Grades 6-12
Calling all manga enthusiasts and aspiring cartoonists!  The Library seeks submissions of original drawings and comic strips by artists in grades 6-12 for a district-wide contest.  Entry forms and rules are available at the Reader Assistance Desk.  Participating is easy – just create an artistic masterpiece and bring it to the Library’s Reader Assistance Desk between March 24 and March 30.  Appropriate submissions will be displayed in the Main Library during the month of April.  Stop in during that time to view the entries and vote for your favorite!  Winners will be notified during the first week of May.
