MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES OF THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY. 700 N. NORTH COURT, PALATINE, IN SAID DISTRICT AT 6:05 P.M. ON MAY 2, 2007

CALL TO ORDER

President Salter called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Secretary Schersten was present.

ROLL CALL

Upon roll call, Trustees Barnes, Beals, Illian, Salter, Schersten, and Zuckert were physically present. Also present were Interim Director Isom and Trustee-Elect Jill Jensen.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT

None

DIRECTOR’S REPORT

The Freeman Road Refurbishment project is coming along on schedule. Paint expenses will come out of the Maintenance Fund.

Trustee Beals moved, seconded by Trustee Barnes, to adopt an ordinance pertaining to the Transfer of Appropriations for the remainder of this fiscal year. The results of the roll call vote were:

AYE: Barnes, Beals, Illian, Salter, Schersten, Zuckert

NAY: None

ABSTAIN: None

ABSENT: Heggem

MOTION CARRIED.

LONG RANGE PLAN

Interim Director Isom went over Long Range Plan items one by one for both Fiscal Year 2006-2007 and Fiscal Year 2007-2008.

ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION

Trustee Salter moved, seconded by Trustee Schersten, to adjourn the meeting to executive session at 7:53 p.m., for the purpose of the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees and deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees.The results of the roll call were:

AYE: Barnes, Beals, Illian, Salter, Schersten and Zuckert

NAY: None

ABSTAIN: None

ABSENT: Heggem

MOTION CARRIED.

RECONVENE TO PUBLIC SESSION

President Salter reconvened the special meeting at 9:38 p.m.

President Salter declared the meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
