MINUTES OF A SPECIAL
MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, COOK
COUNTY, ILLINOIS HELD AT THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 700 N. NORTH COURT,
PALATINE IN SAID DISTRICT AT 1:30 P.M. ON JUNE 1, 2007
CALL TO ORDER
President Barnes called the meeting to order in Meeting Room 2
at 1:31 p.m. Secretary Thomas was
present.
ROLL CALL
Upon roll call, Trustees Barnes, Heggem, Illian, Jensen, Salter, Schersten
and Thomas were physically present. Also
in attendance were Richard Beals, member of the Director Search Committee and
Dan Bradbury and Joey Rodger of Gossage Sager Associates.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
President Barnes requested that the
trustees hold open the evening of June 6, 2007 for a possible special meeting.
President Barnes asked the Compensation
Committee to meet before the regular meeting of the Board of Trustees on June
13, 2007.
ADJOURNMENT TO EXECUTIVE SESSION
Trustee Salter moved, seconded by Trustee Heggem,
that the Board adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of
appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of
specific employees. The results of the
roll call vote were:
AYE: Barnes, Heggem, Illian, Jensen,
Salter, Schersten, and Thomas
NAY: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: None
The motion carried.
RECONVENE TO PUBLIC SESSION
President Barnes reconvened the special
meeting to public session at 5:55 p.m.
CONTINUATION OF MEETING
Trustee Barnes recessed the special meeting at 5:57 p.m. to be
reconvened in the same location on June 2,
2007, at 9:00 a.m.
RECONVENING OF MEETING
President Barnes reconvened the special meeting at 9:03 a.m. on
June 2nd, 2007. Secretary Thomas was present.

be reconvened in the Board Room on June 4, 2007, at 6:00 p.m.

Room at 6:01 p.m. on June 4, 2007.

EXTENSION OF EMPLOYMENT OFFER TO DIRECTOR CANDIDATE
Trustee Illian moved, seconded by Trustee Salter,
that the Board make an offer of employment to Susan Strunk of Naperville,
Illinois to become the Library Director of the Palatine Public Library District. The results of the roll call vote were:
AYE: Barnes, Heggem, Illian, Jensen,
Salter, and Thomas
NAY: None
ABSTAIN: None
ABSENT: Schersten
The motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
President Barnes declared the meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.
