MINUTES OF THE POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES OF THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE PALATINE PUBLIC LIBRARY, 700 N. NORTH COURT, PALATINE, IN SAID DISTRICT AT 9:00 A.M. ON NOVEMBER 15, 2006

CALL TO ORDER

The meeting came to order at 9:10 a.m.

ROLL CALL

HHUpon roll call, Trustees Barnes and Heggem, Director Armstrong, Marcy Rodriguez and Diane Comen were present.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the October 24, 2006 meeting were reviewed and approved.

POLICY DISCUSSION

Internet Policy – The Committee reviewed the revised Internet Policy prepared by Staff. Several changes were made to the proposed policy. Director Armstrong will revise the policy and send it out to all in attendance. Director Armstrong will also develop a form that could be used by a parent to request that his or her under 14 years of age child’s card be disabled so that it will not be accepted to access unfiltered Internet stations.

The date for the next meeting was set for November 29, 2006 at 9:00 a.m.
